that's some wide-ranging question. And one that can't be easily answered. You should specify which nation are you speaking of. German teenagers were fighting with AT rockets against soviet tanks in 1945 while american teenagers were attending high school, for instance.
So narrow the question down a bit to some more smaller scale, please.
