Why The Politics Of Iraq Are So Complicated

I hear many people wondering how come all the sincere effort to free Iraq from tyrany and create a more modern or democratic regime backfires time after time, so I decided to remind everyone of the very simple very obvious reasons.

The creation of the states in the middle east and the Gulf area was done by politicians usually western ones and the result was that people that naturally didn’t want to be together were stuck in the same state and as a result some section took control over the others and did everything they can to opress all kind of opesition.

The debate was never political in the sense of disagreement on how the state should be governed it was ethnical as to who’s tribe or group is going to opress the other.

When one group is majority of the people then the other groups take control by force. When the US try to democraticise thing it releases all the demons that lied beneath the surface.

There is no such thing as democracy when there are no common premises as the rights of all men, the need to treat the minority with respect etc. Just counting numbers when neither group is willing to think of the others as equal but different is a terrible idea.

Before democrcy can be imposed moral sould be taught and if Bush and his administration can’t comprehend it send them to me I’ll explain.
