I have just signed a contract with West View Press to prepare a book on the German offensive south of Kursk in July 1943. This offensive resulted in the famous Battle of Prokhorovka. Due to a government research contract, we have already gathered extensive material on the battle from the German and Soviet unit records. What we need to create a good, well-balanced book is a wide range of detailed interviews from the actual participants in the battle. I am looking to talk to anyone (German or Soviet Army, or Hungarian Air Force) who was involved in these operations, or anyone who could put me in touch with such veterans or their veteran groups.

Thank you for your time

On BBC TV a couple of years ago there was a special history programme on Kursk and it featured interviews with a number of the surviving participants, both German and Russian. Unfortunately I can't remember what it was called, who made it or any other useful facts. They also interviewed local civlians who had been engaged to build defences etc.

If you contact the BBC they may be able to help track these people down, or at least unearth a copy of the programme. (It is possible it was Channel Four and not the BBC at all....)

Cheers
