Hello all,
I was reading the Harry Turtledove books, The first book, I think it's called 'In the Balance'
This is my question..
Can you tell me about the NKVD? What are they and what is it's function in the Soviet Union?
Is it a predecessor to the KGB?
I tried to look them up, and one of the encyclopedia said that the NKVD was equvilent to the Nazi Gestapo..
