I just read some statistics about victims due to aerial warfare in Britain (O'Brien: Civil Defence) Among the 60.595 victims about 51.509 were caused by bombs, 6184 by V1 and 2754 by V2. 148 died because of some long range artillery. AFAIK Dover has been hit by a railroad gun called K5 E Leopold. My question is if this was the only kind of artillery having been fired across the channel?

Thanks in advance

Was it artillery that was being fired from across the channel or was it from some of their own artillery going stray or misfiring and exploding on the ground?

The only thing I know is that there was at least some (maybe sporadic) cross channel shelling by that railway gun. I just 'visited' a (or the) Railway Gun Web-Museum where the channel issue is stated (among other Leopold facts). See: http://web.ukonline.co.uk/members/n.robinson/railgun/ germany/k5.htm

I unfortunately also don't know if that number of 148 victims includes 'friendly fire' casualities.
