Many years ago when I was a child, an Admiral Schonland lived with his family for a brief time in our building. He had a daughter, whose name I don't know and a son named Rodney. Is this the same man who was decorated as a hero for his efforts aboard the USS San Francisco during Guadalcanal? The little information I've found indicates that after the war he was stationed at Treasure Island and subsequently became an assistant professor at the University of Santa Clara. Logic dictates that this must be the same man who lived in our building. After all, how many Admiral Schonlands can there be? Any comments or insight?

Can anyone give me any information about Admiral Schonland? He was a decorated hero for his remarkable efforts during the war in the Pacific. Subsequently, he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and I think he may have briefly lived in the apartment building where I grew up. Just curious. Any information would be appreciated.
