Recently, I was browsing through a retail store that sold VHS tapes and came upon a 2 tape set called......'Eva Braun: Her life with Adolf Hitler', by Simitar Entertainment. It costs about $10, is recorded in the EP mode and lasts 90 minutes. Anyway, I bought the 2 tape set and popped it into my VCR. The films consist of home movies shot by Eva Braun and her friends during the late 1930's up to the mid 40's. This program had color and B&W films of Hitler and his entourage I had never seen before. Extremely interesting to see, although the background sounds the producers added were a bit bizarre (these were silent movies that Eva took). Occasionally, an actress would read segments from Eva Braun's diary. Anyway, if you're interested in this sort of stuff, you might want to look for it.

Hitler met Eva Braun through the Munich Photographer Heinrich Hoffman. Eva Braun worked as a secretary in his studio. In fact, the story goes that when Hitler visited Hoffman's studio he became interested in Hoffman's girlfriend who also worked there. Herr Hoffman successfully steered the Fuehrer in the direction of Eva Braun. Many of the home movies were shot by Hoffman (as well as Eva Braun) and were part of his private collection. I remember one in particular of her and her friends 'skinnydipping' in a Bavarian lake. She was much younger than Hitler and not very mature. She lived a shadowy existence as Hitler's mistress for many years (mostly at the Berghof). It is doubtful that Hitler saw many of these home movies since she is often seen smoking (which Hitler did not tolerate).
