Seeking information on Harvey Glick, either 2nd or 1st Lt., USAAC, B29 co-pilot, shot down over Kobe, Japan. Captured and placed in POW camp. Burned to death after a US air raid. After war, the Japanese War Crimes Trial charged an officer Watanabe with being responsible for not letting the prisoners out.

I am interested to find out if this Mitshura Watanabe is the same person mentioned by Louis Zamperini in his speach at the 1998 Olympics, and referred to as 'the Bird'.

I am doing research for info on Glick who was a resident of my hometown in Michigan. I would like to have this by Memorial Day, 1999.

Thanks, Louis Roth

There is a very good book about POW's of Japan.

I think it is called Prisoners of the Rising Sun: POW's of Japan.

I had a copy-but several family members have it-bit late in returning it.
