My wife's grandfather was involved with shooting down a German plane with paratroopers aboard. There was a flag with DAOV and a swastika on it. The A had two dots instead of a crossbar. Does anyone have any information about this type of flag?

That's very strange. The Nazi Luftwaffe usually had a bird appearing on their flags. You might want to take a look HERE (please click).

I also have the same thing. I can't find what division of luftwaffe it belongs to
