Can someone please provide some background on two WWII flags?

1) A Nazi flag which is on a heavy cloth. It has the red background and an Eagle sitting on top of the swastika. I haven't been able to find any reference on this type of flag ( where it may have been used, history, etc )

2) Also background on a Japanese silk flag that has writing all around the red center. ( typical meaning of such a flag )

Both flags are relatively small, the German one being 2'x3' approx. and the Japanese being more square at 30'x30' approx.

Thank you for your assistance.

Stoney, I might be able to assist you with information on the German World War II flag you mentioned, however I'll need much more descriptive detail on the flag you have. For example the Third Reich had scores of flags, pennents and banners with all manner of graphic elements designating various military, party and party affiliated organizations. Your comment that the flag had a 'red background eagle sitting on top of a swastika'. I found the following flags that meet this description: The command flag for the Reich Minister of Air Travel, Hitler Youth League banner for automobile mounting, Luftwaffe squadron flag, NSKK Pennon for automobile mounting, NSKK Pennon for wall hanging, Hitler's personal standard, SS headquarters flag to name a few, so you see? If you could provide more description of the flag that would help much!
