I met many people and discussed many of the facts of the civil war on many occasions but I feel that somehow the decision to dedicate a post to General Napoleon J.D Dana might help give him more of the recognition he deserves.

It is always a matter of luck, chance or some arbitrary influences that determines who gets more attention and recognition in an historical perspective.

Usually years after a war it is easier to remember the commanders of the armies and those generals that led a critical or important battle even if their rank is relatively low.

i wonder which of the current generals is remembered 50 years from now.
