In my christmas holidays I will spend some days in New York for the first time. Can you recommend any books available there about WW1 and WW2, especially about the Luftwaffe (units, aces, secret projects etc.)? Any tips on special shops in New York (also general aviation)?

Thanks Tobi

Your best bet is simply to obtain a catalog from Schiffer Military Publications (or some such name), which has an amazing number of books and portfolios describing every conceivable aspect of World War Two with an emphasis on the German side. All of their books and brochures are beautifully put together, almost embarrassingly well made, although a bit pricey for just that reason.

You should find some books in the Schiffer line in almost any New York area bookstore under military history or the history of the World Wars, and each one has one or more cards inside for the ordering of a catalog. Then you can get a catalog, sit at home, and order books at your leisure.

The Articles of War in suburban Chicago is a good bet too. They have an incredible variety of hard to find and downright obscure publications on all eras of warfare.
